Increase Your Holiday Sales After Black Friday and Cyber Monday [INFOGRAPHIC]

Don’t think holiday shopping means serious affiliate business? Think again. Last week comScore reported that Black Friday sales topped $1 billion for the first time in history. That’s right - $1 BILLION dollars (in our best Dr. Evil voice possible). Then came Cyber Monday and another cool $1.46 billion in cyber sales. Even though I’m no John Nash, I’m pretty sure that’s close to $2.5 billion dollars in online sales in just two days of shopping (give or take a few hundred million depending on what data house you talk to), and that’s not even counting Thanksgiving day.

When you take into consideration 40% of shoppers begin their holiday shopping in or before October, some of you are probably afraid the season to ring-in holiday revenue is frozen over. Yet despite this stat and the fact we’ve passed what some would consider the “summit” in terms of peak holiday shopping, there’s still time to increase your online sales and earn commissions as an affiliate marketer. It’s like how extreme mountain climbers warn each other at the top of the mountain: reaching the summit is the easy part, it’s coming down and finishing that is the toughest part.

Earlier this year, Commission Junction’s Research and Analytics department took a close look at CJ Network activity earlier this year and released our affiliate marketing Holiday Shopping Infographic. You can download it for free by clicking here. The good news: despite the fact that we’re already in the first week of December, advertisers and publishers still have time to make an impact on their affiliate bottom line.

CJ Network sales for the past two years have accelerated during the last week before Christmas, and we think the peak date for late shopping this year will likely be Wednesday, December 19th.  Even with record setting sales over Black Friday and Cyber Monday, there is still a lot of shopping left to be done, and both advertisers and publishers can benefit from taking advantage of some key upcoming dates.
